Thai Red Cross Invites Healthy People to Donate Blood Through 'Give Blood Now' Campaign
The Thai Red Cross is calling on healthy individuals to donate blood through the 'Give Blood Now' project throughout 2026, stressing that blood donation 'cannot wait' and every second is an opportunity to save a life. The National Blood Service Center is launching this campaign to address the real crisis of blood shortages, urging people not to hesitate but to donate immediately without waiting for a specific request. Special incentives include a Give Blood Now t-shirt designed by Cyrano Design for donors who complete 3 donations or donors over 65 who complete 2 donations in 2026. According to the World Health Organization, each country should have blood donors representing at least 3% of its population. In Thailand, this means needing 1.98 million blood donors. Current statistics show Thailand has been slightly below this target, with blood donation rates of 2.80% and 2.79% in 2024 and 2025 respectively. The campaign aims to encourage regular blood donations, with a key message of 'Donate Blood, Do It Now' - emphasizing the urgent need for blood and inviting everyone with good health to contribute immediately.
