NIA Propels Thai Deep Tech Startups to Japanese Market
On February 6th, the National Innovation Agency (NIA) launched the 'Startup Thailand Deep Tech Venture 2026' program, designed to help Thai deep tech startups enter the Japanese market. The initiative aims to accelerate startups' international expansion through comprehensive support, including business model enhancement, expert coaching, and market insights. Dr. Krichpaka Boonfueng, NIA Director, emphasized that deep technology is a crucial economic driver, capable of addressing global challenges and difficult to replicate. The program will select startups in three target industries: Food Tech, Health Tech, and Sustainability, with a focus on matching their innovations with Japanese market needs. Selected startups will undergo a rigorous program including business boot camps, market insights, business matching, market discovery trips to Japan, and a final pitch event to investors. The ultimate goal is to help Thai startups prove their technological capabilities in the highly demanding Japanese market and potentially expand globally.
