Kasetsart University Elevates Thai Pet Groomers to International Standards
Kasetsart University is elevating Thai pet groomers to international standards and preparing to launch a Non-Degree course after the Kasetsart Fair 2026. The Faculty of Veterinary Technology announced a significant milestone with the first-ever dog grooming competition, showcasing a model to upgrade the profession to international standards.
The event 'Dog Fancy and Grooming Competition' was held for the first time at the Chakrabhand Pensiri Building on February 6-7, 2026, under the 'New Home for Stray Dogs' project. The competition aimed to provide opportunities for stray and pet dogs to showcase their potential and promote correct, sustainable animal care. The competition was divided into two categories: dog grooming and dog fancy, conducted under strict animal welfare standards with expert judges.
Associate Professor Dr. Wutinant Raksajit, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Technology, stated that this event represents an important step in connecting academic work with society and pet care professions, especially for pet groomers.
