Unsatisfied Bride-to-Be Cancels Wedding After Receiving Cheap Phone Instead of iPhone 17
A Malaysian woman is dissatisfied with her boyfriend and plans to cancel their wedding after not receiving an iPhone 17 as a birthday gift, but instead getting a cheap mobile phone. For months, she had hinted that the iPhone 17 was one of her most desired gifts. Despite receiving a new phone on her milestone birthday, it was far from her expectations - a smartphone costing only 1,000 Malaysian ringgit (approximately 8,000 baht). The woman, who remained anonymous, revealed she intended to marry her boyfriend if his birthday celebration met her expectations. She currently uses an iPhone 14, also a gift from him, and felt it was time for an upgrade. Her expectations rose when her partner suggested she dress up for a special occasion. During the evening, she said, "I thought there would be a surprise. I thought he would understand what I wanted, but he only arranged a candlelit dinner. I got angry, threw the phone on the ground, and walked out." After days of contemplation about their relationship, she doubted his feelings, believing that true love would mean doing everything possible to give her the gift she wanted. "My friends receive branded gifts from their husbands and often travel abroad. I'm so jealous," she complained. Eventually, the man apologized and presented an engagement ring, claiming he had intended to propose that night. However, the woman now feels too uncertain about their compatibility and his commitment to move forward with the engagement.
