Tonkla Party Exposes: 22 Polling Station Officials Barred from Voting Due to Reassignment
On February 4th, Charayuth Jaturaporn, a Bangkok MP candidate from District 3, posted on Facebook about a 'tragic democratic scenario' where election officials cannot exercise their voting rights. District officials reported receiving assignment orders on January 18th to work in different electoral districts, which came after the advance voting registration deadline. When these officials attempted to register, they were denied permission to vote early. Around 22 officials have complained about being unable to vote on February 8th due to these last-minute reassignments. Charayuth questioned the fairness of the situation, asking why state workers who sacrifice their time are being stripped of their voting rights and whether working as election officials means automatically losing one's voting privilege.
