Feeling Like Home: Carrick Hints at Continuing as Manchester United Manager
Michael Carrick, Manchester United's interim manager, has hinted for the first time that he wants to continue leading the 'Red Devils' after this season, emphasizing that he feels at home. Carrick took over Manchester United replacing Ruben Amorim, who was dismissed in early January, with a contract until the end of this season. The 44-year-old head coach has delivered exceptional performance, winning three consecutive Premier League matches (2-0 against Manchester City, 3-2 against Arsenal, and 3-2 against Fulham), lifting the team to fourth place in the table. Recently, Carrick signaled his interest in continuing to manage Manchester United after this season, stating, 'I love what I do. I'm here. I feel like I'm at home here, but I understand the situation thoroughly, so I'm not overly excited.' He added, 'I'm fully aware of my role and responsibilities. We want to succeed, and I want the club to continue succeeding after the season, whether it's me or someone else. Right now, I can't control that, and we'll see what happens, but the goal is definitely to try to develop the team and make Manchester United stronger.'
