Suphanat Highlights Numerous Voting Irregularities, Claims Vote Manipulation Possible
On February 11, 2024, Suphanat Minchainan, a Bangkok parliamentary candidate from the People's Party, shared his election vote counting experiences on Facebook. He detailed significant problems in the voting process, including deliberate concealment of voting documents, errors in vote recording, and insufficient volunteer monitoring.
Key issues he highlighted include election officials quickly hiding voting records, incorrectly filling out summary sheets, and systematic vulnerabilities that enable potential vote manipulation. Suphanat noted that in his electoral district alone, 195 voting units required monitoring, making comprehensive verification nearly impossible. He criticized the Election Commission for consistently allowing these systemic problems to persist, arguing that low-rate volunteer compensation creates opportunities for electoral fraud.
