EV Market Still Promising This Year, New Brands Bringing Excitement
OJ views the electric vehicle market this year as relatively stable compared to last year. Bill Zhang, Executive Director of Omoda and Jaecoo Thailand, revealed that EV market support measures have reduced in value, and customers who already purchased vehicles at the end of last year have impacted January sales. However, the market remains interesting due to new EV brands and existing manufacturers introducing new models with advanced technology and improved battery capacities. OJ aims to sell 26,000 vehicles this year, up from 18,000 last year, particularly driven by the highly popular Jaecoo J5 model. The company plans to launch new models including the Omoda C5 facelift in March and REEV technology vehicles in the first half of the year. The company is also focusing on service quality, aiming to improve service centers, ensure 24-hour problem resolution, and expand showrooms to 80 locations in the first quarter and 90 by mid-year.
