Saraburi Electoral District 3 Puzzled by Vote Count Discrepancy
On February 10, 2024, reporters noted unusual vote count irregularities in Saraburi Province's Electoral District 3. Initial results at 95% completion showed different vote totals compared to the final 100% graphic from the Election Commission of Thailand. The top candidate, Watchrapong Kuvijitsuwan from the Bhumjai Thai Party, initially had 35,796 votes and later showed 53,967 votes. The second-ranked candidate, Atthasit Mahithi (a former national snooker player from the People's Party), increased from 18,381 to 28,831 votes. The discrepancy becomes apparent when comparing the number of valid ballots: the 95% website report showed 59,919 valid ballots, while the final 100% graphic displayed 91,451 valid ballots - a difference of 28,379 ballots that cannot be easily explained.
