National Police Chief Reveals 7 Vote-Buying Cases in Multiple Areas During Election
National Police Chief Gen. Kittirat Phanphet chaired a meeting at the National Police Office to review election safety and order. During the meeting, he thanked police officers for their diligent work in maintaining peace during the election.
The chief reported 7 vote-buying cases identified across different police regional zones, specifically in Police Regions 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. These cases are currently under investigation and will be processed according to Election Commission guidelines.
Gen. Kittirat emphasized the need for continued vigilance, particularly in high-risk areas like southern border provinces. He noted that while some ballot-related incidents occurred, many were due to misunderstandings rather than intentional misconduct.
The police will continue monitoring vote-counting locations and ballot box transportation, coordinating closely with local Election Commission offices to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
