9 Years of PromptPay: Registration Surpasses 82 Million, Transaction Value Hits 4.7 Trillion Baht

PromptPay has completed 9 years of official service since its launch in 2017, developing from a cross-bank money transfer system to a national payment infrastructure. The system supports daily financial transactions for Thai people, connecting citizens, businesses, and government sectors through various transaction types including personal transfers, small business sales, service payments, and government welfare transfers. The platform can continuously and stably handle large transaction volumes. PromptPay is a real-time electronic money transfer and payment service across Thai banks, supporting transactions through Any ID without requiring a recipient's bank account number. Users can transfer or pay through multiple channels like Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, e-Wallet applications, ATMs, and QR Code systems. Currently, PromptPay processes over 2,000 million transactions monthly, with a record transaction value of 4.70 trillion baht in December 2023. Total registrations have reached 82 million, including 81.8 million personal and 0.39 million business accounts.
