Amata Showcases Model of Accident-Free Industrial Estate, Targeting Zero Accidents
Amata is promoting a road accident reduction model with the goal of achieving 'zero accidents' and creating a safe industrial park prototype. Akkaraset Chuchuay, Managing Director of Amata Facility Service (AFS), revealed that their continuous commitment to improving road safety over the past four years has significantly reduced accident statistics within the Amata industrial estate.
In 2023, they managed to reduce accidents from 298 to 173 incidents, with fatalities dropping from 8 to 2 people. Despite the industrial park covering over 20,000 rai, with road networks spanning 150 kilometers and over 1 million annual transits, systematic management and strict measures have continuously lowered risk trends.
'Although the overall situation has improved, Amata's goal remains clear - achieving Zero Accidents, which is a major challenge in a large industrial area. However, the continuously declining numbers confirm that our measures are on the right track,' Akkaraset stated.
The company prepares an average annual budget of around 20 million baht for systematic accident reduction, covering six main measures including physical improvements, road structure development, strict traffic law enforcement, safety campaigns, AI technology for risk detection, safety education, and emergency response coordination.
Amata has already expanded this model to the Amata City Rayong industrial estate, which has over 80,000 daily workers, successfully reducing fatalities by almost 70% within two years. The company aims to become a road safety benchmark for industrial areas and is ready to share its knowledge and management model nationwide.
