Election Commission Receives Multiple Vote Recount Requests, Urgently Investigating 39 Cases
On February 11 at 4:00 PM, the Election Commission's Deputy Secretary-General Lt. Pasakorn Siripakyaporn and Investigation Director Sutthada Kongdecha held a press conference about the election and referendum vote counting process. They reported receiving numerous citizen requests for vote recounts in multiple areas. The Election Commission will compile all complaints and submit them for legal review. Provincial election offices are gradually publishing vote count results, particularly in Bangkok's 33 electoral districts. Currently, 99 formal complaints have been filed, with an additional 14 cases discovered by officials, totaling 113 cases. Of these, 39 cases have been accepted for formal investigation. The most common allegations involve vote buying and misleading campaign tactics. The entire investigation process may take 6-8 months according to legal procedures. The Election Commission emphasized that all complaints will be handled carefully, transparently, and fairly to maintain public confidence in the electoral process.
