Online Sting Dismantles Cross-Border Arms Trafficking Network
NAKHON SI THAMMARAT — On February 12, 2026, Thai police successfully dismantled a transnational arms trafficking network by arresting three men accused of selling military-style weapons across the country and along Thailand's western border. Senior officers from Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police headquarters, along with investigators from multiple police units, announced the arrests of three suspects aged 23-26 from Thung Song district. The suspects were operating an online arms trading network, and police seized an extensive weapons cache during the raid, including two M16A1 assault rifles, multiple shotguns, handguns, two fragmentation grenades, and nearly 300 rounds of ammunition. Pol. Maj. Gen. Pornchai Khajonkliang, acting commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police, stated that investigators are expanding the investigation to trace the weapons' origins and follow financial trails linked to the network. The suspects have been charged with multiple firearms and ammunition-related offenses and remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.
