Chanthaburi Residents Demand Election Commission Halt Results Announcement for Districts 1-2 Due to Suspicious Vote Counting
A Chanthaburi civic network led by Krisada Darasorn met with Amnaj Phusadee, the provincial Election Commission director, to file a complaint about irregularities in the election result reporting system. The network found suspicious discrepancies in vote counting for Districts 1 and 2, where the system initially showed vote totals higher than valid ballots, followed by unexplained reductions in candidate vote counts. The network's main demands include temporarily halting the election result announcement for District 1 and requesting a complete vote recount due to concerns about ballot validation standards. The provincial Election Commission director acknowledged the technical reporting errors and stated that the final decision would be made by the central Election Commission. To address concerns about ballot integrity, the local Election Commission invited media and representatives to inspect the ballot storage area, demonstrating secure storage protocols.
