WADA to Investigate Ski Jumpers' Alleged Genital Enhancement for Competitive Advantage
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed it will investigate rumors that several ski jumpers have been injecting substances to increase genital size to gain a competitive edge. The issue has been gaining prominence during the lead-up to the 2026 Winter Olympics. In January, the Bild news agency reported that ski jumpers were injecting hyaluronic acid directly into their genitals to increase size, which would allow them to wear larger ski suits and gain aerodynamic advantages. Ski jumpers have consistently denied these claims, though suit regulations have been a long-standing controversial issue, with some athletes previously banned for illegal suit modifications. Olivier Niggli, WADA's Director General, stated, "I do not know the details about ski jumping and performance enhancement methods, but if there are any irregularities, we will investigate whether they involve prohibited substances."
