Special Report - AirAsia Partners with HYROX to Boost Sport Tourism and Health Trends
AirAsia has officially launched its partnership with HYROX in the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to facilitate travel for athletes, participants, and spectators. The collaboration aims to connect fitness communities across over 15 cities in the Asia-Pacific region.
Amanda Wu, Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia X, stated that sports have always been part of AirAsia's DNA, and they are committed to their 'Dare to Dream' value. The airline has previously collaborated with global sports platforms like ASEAN football, SEA Games, UFC, and their own AirAsia RedRun.
With fitness becoming a global lifestyle trend, AirAsia hopes to bring people closer to the sports they love. In 2026, HYROX expects over 250,000 athletes, with 30-40% being international travelers.
AirAsia will offer special benefits, including a 10% flight ticket discount for registered HYROX participants. They will also partner with selected HYROX Training Clubs in key economic and tourism cities like Osaka, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Incheon.
Gary Hwan, HYROX Asia-Pacific Managing Director, emphasized that HYROX is more than a competition - it's a community-built lifestyle and sport that has attracted over 196,000 participants across 10 cities, reflecting growing regional interest in fitness and experiential sports.
