Eakniti Confirms 'Half-Half Plus' Phase 2, Allowing Left-Out Groups to Receive 2,000-2,400 Baht with New Registration Process
Eakniti emphasized that the 'Half-Half Plus' Phase 2 is continuing, with left-out groups able to receive 2,000-2,400 baht, and a new registration process to be opened after reviewing conditions. On February 10, 2024, Eakniti Nitithuntaprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed that the project is currently under review. The payment format will remain the same for two groups: those who filed personal income tax (2,400 baht) and general individuals (2,000 baht) who previously registered. Those who have not yet registered will be given an opportunity, with the registration system being improved. The project details are being reviewed, considering factors such as budget allocation and the timeline for the new cabinet formation. Eakniti also noted the positive response in the Thai stock market following the election, with the SET Index closing at 1,410.44 points, partly due to foreign investment inflows and resulting in a stronger baht. He instructed the Bank of Thailand governor to closely monitor any unusual currency speculation.
