Two French Adventurers Successfully Walk Across 16 Countries to Shanghai, China
Loic Vausort, 26, a climate consultant, and Benjamin Humboldt, 27, a project manager, completed an extraordinary walking expedition from southeastern France to Shanghai, China. Starting in September 2024, they traveled approximately 12,850 kilometers over 518 days, crossing 16 countries with the goal of reducing environmental impact from air travel. The duo walked an average of 45 kilometers per day, with occasional short bus rides for border crossings and documentation. Their journey was supported by crowdfunding and business sponsors, and in the final 10 kilometers, around 50 people, including Chinese social media followers, joined and cheered them on. When asked what he would do first, Vausort simply replied, "Sleep for a long time!"
