FTI Poll: Expectations for New Government to Revive Economy

M.L. Peektong Thongai, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), revealed the January 2024 CEO Poll on 'Industry Sector Expectations After the 2024 Election'. Some 48.4% of FTI executives have moderate confidence in political parties' campaign promises, with only 16.8% believing these promises can be fully implemented. 77.4% prioritize political candidates' honesty and lack of corruption history, while 75.5% emphasize knowledge and capabilities. 71.6% of executives expect the new government to address structural national issues concretely. 80.6% want the government to urgently resolve weak domestic purchasing power caused by high household debt. Industry leaders hope the new government will focus on improving the country's competitive capabilities while addressing people's economic challenges and reducing inequality.
