Woman Breaks Down: Kidney Patient Sells Everything to Cover Medical Expenses After Social Security Requires 60-Day Advance Payment
An office worker with end-stage kidney disease has sold all her assets to cover medical treatment, but Social Security requires her to make advance payments for 60 days, leaving her without funds to continue treatment. In a heartbreaking Facebook post, the patient, Jittima (last name withheld), 47, from Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi, shared her struggle of being a lone kidney patient who has lost her parents and has no family support. Since September 2025, she has been receiving treatment using social security benefits, but the requirement to pay upfront for dialysis has drained her savings. Each dialysis session costs 2,482 baht, plus additional expenses for travel and filter, which she can no longer afford. With no income and having sold all her possessions, she is desperately seeking help to continue her life-saving treatments.
