Major Poll Reveals Sports Fans' Expectations for New Government to Address Sports Corruption
The KBU SPORT POLL, conducted online between February 8-10, surveyed 1,149 participants: 43.70% male, 37.94% female, and 18.36% LGBTQIA+. Key findings include: 29.30% want sports to be a main government policy, 27.90% focus on appointing qualified sports ministers, and 24% support appropriate sports development budgets. Regarding sports minister characteristics, 32.70% prioritize knowledge about sports, while 30.40% emphasize integrity. Notably, 33.50% of respondents cited corruption as the primary issue needing improvement. Assistant Professor Dr. Rattapong Boonyanuwat highlighted that the survey reflects a desire for the new government to take sports development seriously and address systemic issues, particularly corruption in the sports sector.
