Election Commission Reports 113 Fraud Complaints, Vote Buying Tops the List
The Election Commission (EC) reported 113 fraud complaints as of February 9, 2024, with vote buying being the most prevalent issue. Pol. Lt. Col. Chanin Noi Lek, Deputy Secretary-General, stated that all incidents will be thoroughly investigated, including election management processes, ballot damage, arrests, and technical reporting errors. The EC emphasized that they will handle every case swiftly and decisively. Complaints can be filed up to 30 days after the official results are announced. Despite widespread video evidence of vote buying, the EC claims they are investigating all cases, with some already addressed and others under active pursuit. Of the 113 complaints, 107 have been formally received, spread across various regions, with vote buying violations being the primary concern.
