CP Seeding Invites SMEs to Decode Their 'Costs'
Many Thai SMEs with quality products struggle to sell, price correctly, and expand into modern trade or export markets. The root of this problem may not be about price reduction, but about never truly understanding their own cost structure. This was the core focus of the monthly online CP Seeding Talk event, designed to provide practical knowledge for SMEs. The latest session, held on Saturday, January 31, 2569, focused on 'Product Cost Structure' and attracted over 100 SME entrepreneurs. Waranthorn Na Nakorn from CP Seeding's business development team explained that many SMEs fall into the same trap of 'pricing by feeling' or only looking at partial costs like raw materials, without seeing the entire cost system. The training's goal was not to teach 'reducing costs to the lowest possible' but to help SMEs clearly answer basic questions about their per-unit costs and where to reduce or invest. Business advisor Marut Nontsaitarn emphasized three key points: 1) Uncontrolled production costs can collapse pricing, profits, and competitiveness 2) Cost reduction isn't about pushing prices to the lowest, but being 'market appropriate' 3) Costs must be viewed as a 'strategy', not just accounting numbers The session included a case study from Kokiri, a seaweed snack brand now exported to over 90 countries, sharing insights on understanding market entry costs and hidden expenses across different sales channels.
