Treenucht Emphasizes Social Security Reform: Maintaining State Organization, Professional Management, Transparent, and Independent
Labor Minister Treenucht Thientong revealed that the Social Security Office reform working group, led by Permanent Secretary Pol. Maj. Gen. Wannapong Katcharak, has completed its first meeting on February 6th. The meeting identified three key reform areas: overcoming bureaucratic constraints, improving transparency and governance, and modernizing organizational management. Treenucht stressed that the reform aims to create a professionally managed state organization, not privatization, to ensure efficient use of funds for the 24.5 million insured individuals and 500,000 employers. The goal is to develop investment strategies that can generate returns, manage risks, and adapt to an aging society, while maintaining transparency, good governance, and political independence.
