Devotees Mourn 'Luang Por Jong-Jattamalo', Passing Away at 91 Years Old

Devotees are mourning the passing of Luang Por Jong-Jattamalo, the abbot of Sangha Monastery, who died of old age at 91 years, 4 months, and 10 days, with 71 years in monastic life. On February 12, 2024, Sangha Monastery in Ban Dan Lan Hoi District, Sukhothai Province, announced that Phra Sukhavarotai (Luang Por Jong-Jattamalo), the monastery's abbot and advisor to the 5th Regional Monastic Council, had been receiving medical treatment at Sukhothai Hospital since January 19, 2024. Medical teams provided close care, with his condition fluctuating. On February 10, 2024, Luang Por Jong's condition deteriorated, and he peacefully passed away on February 12, 2024, at 1:26 PM, surrounded by grieving disciples and medical staff.
