Sawaeng Reveals Vote Buying in 2-3 Areas, Encourages Voter Turnout, Expects Over 80% Participation

Sawaeng invited citizens to participate in elections and referendum voting on February 8, 2024. As the Secretary-General of the Election Commission, he cast his vote at polling unit 56 in Bangkok's 13th electoral district. Voters will receive three ballots: pink for party-list candidates, green for constituency candidates, and yellow for the constitutional referendum. The polling stations are arranged in a U-shape to streamline the voting process. Sawaeng reported that election authorities and security units monitored potential vote buying in 2-3 areas and expect a voter turnout of at least 80% across more than 100,000 polling units nationwide. He urged citizens to bring their identification documents, including expired ID cards or government-issued photo IDs with 13-digit ID numbers.
