Youth Insight - Decoding the Secrets of Doi Inthanon National Park
EGCO Group and the Thai Forest Protection Foundation are partnering with Doi Inthanon National Park to invite high school students to unravel nature's secrets through the 62nd EGCO Thai Forest Protection Youth Camp. The camp, themed 'Nature Decoded: Unraveling Doi Inthanon's Watershed Forest', will take place from March 21-27, 2024, at Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai.
Thawatchai Samranvanich, EGCO Group's CEO, emphasized the organization's commitment to cultivating environmental conservation awareness among youth, believing that a strong foundation creates positive outcomes. Since 1997, they have been running youth forest protection camps, creating a network of over 3,600 youth participants across 61 generations.
The 2024 camp will select 70 students from across Thailand to experience Doi Inthanon, the country's highest watershed forest, known for its rich biodiversity. Participants will travel by train, spend 7 days and 6 nights in the national park, and engage in diverse learning activities in nature, exploring unique ecosystems, geological features, and local flora and fauna.
Interested high school students can apply by February 23, 2024, by submitting either a handwritten essay or a short 2-minute video on the topic 'Nature and I: How Are We Connected?'
