M District, in partnership with the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), organized the Bangkok Design Festival 2026 under the theme 'DESIGN S/O/S' to bring together designers and creatives to develop innovative projects. Suthawadee Sirithanachai, Marketing Managing Director at M District, highlighted the success of last year's Academic Program, emphasizing students' creativity and bold approach. This year's program invited students to explore the theme 'Something to Stay__On', focusing on sustainability, urban resilience, and design using local or environmentally friendly materials. Pichit Weerangkabut, Deputy Director of the Creative Economy Agency, believes design and creativity are crucial in building better cities, driving economic growth, and promoting community participation. The festival aims to inspire collaborative urban design. This year's program attracted 17 student teams from 10 institutions, including Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, Silpakorn University, and others. The teams worked under the guidance of Simon Nicolas Pillard, a French creative director, and expert mentors, learning real-world project management and creative development. The resulting 17 artworks reflect innovative concepts and creative perspectives.
