Sad News: Passing of Phra Rachsutalalngkarn, Former Sangha Provincial Leader in Surin

A sad moment for the Buddhist monastic community in Surin Province and Sangha Administrative Region 11. Phra Rachsutalalngkarn (Chatt Sajjavaro), abbot of Phrom Surin Temple in Mueang District, Surin Province, and advisor to Sangha Region 11, passed away peacefully at Surin Hospital on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 02:43 AM, aged 89 with 69 years in monastic life. Prior to his passing, he had been experiencing age-related health decline, creating profound sorrow. He was a highly respected senior monk who followed the path of Lord Buddha, dedicating his life to numerous virtuous works and making significant contributions to the monastic community and Buddhist education in Surin Province. Born as Chatt Endoo on March 6, 1936, in Prasart Subdistrict, Tambon Tamoon, Surin Province, to parents Thip and Id Endoo, he completed his compulsory education and was ordained in 1954. Throughout his life, he held various important positions in the monastic hierarchy, including becoming the Surin Provincial Sangha Leader and ultimately serving as an advisor to Sangha Region 11.
