Parliamentary Candidate in Nakhon Si Thammarat Demands Money Back After Election Loss
A viral clip has been shared online from a Facebook page revealing details about the election in the area. The post highlighted a parliamentary candidate from a major party in Nakhon Si Thammarat District 4 (covering Chian Yai, Chalerm Phrakiat, and Chawang districts) demanding money back after campaign leaders failed to distribute funds to villagers, which led to his election loss. A 40-second video shows the candidate confronting a local administrative leader about withheld funds. Local residents confirmed such practices exist, where campaign brokers collect names to extract money from candidates, often without the residents' knowledge. Unofficial election results showed the candidate from the Democrat Party, Kanokporn Dejdecho, winning with 41,929 votes.
