Bhumjai Thai Party Seeks to Secure Agriculture Ministry in Government Negotiations
On February 13, Bhumjai Thai Party is strategizing to establish a government, believing the Election Commission will soon confirm election results. The party has consolidated parliamentary support, including 193 seats from Bhumjai Thai, 74 from Pheu Thai, 58 from Kla Thammakorn, and 27 seats from smaller parties. The party wants Supachee Suthamphun to serve as Deputy Prime Minister overseeing the Commerce Ministry and Agriculture Ministry to align agricultural production with export strategies. However, Capt. Thammas Phromphao, current Agriculture Minister and Kla Thammakorn advisor, is resisting giving up his position. Bhumjai Thai is applying pressure by engaging Pheu Thai and other smaller parties, with internal tensions existing due to Kla Thammakorn's political maneuvering in key party territories.
