Following in Father's Footsteps: Manchester United Offers Professional Contract to Wayne Rooney's Son Kai
Manchester United is moving forward to offer a contract to Kai Rooney, the rising young talent and son of team legend Wayne Rooney, starting with a one-year scholarship before expanding to a 50,000-pound per season contract, approximately 2.1 million baht. Kai, 16 years old, has previously impressed with Manchester United's U12 team, scoring 56 goals and providing 18 assists. He has already been fielded at Old Trafford in an FA Youth Cup match for the 18-and-under team against Derby County. The Manchester United team has recently offered scholarships to 14 young talents, including Kai and Jazey Carrigan, son of Michael Carrigan. When they turn 17, the scholarship will convert to a three-year professional contract valued at around 50,000 pounds per year. However, reports indicate that Kai and his family have not yet decided whether to accept the offer, and Wayne Rooney is not entirely satisfied with the figures, seeking further negotiations. Additionally, Clay, Rooney's 12-year-old second son, also plays for Manchester United Academy, while Cass, the 8-year-old youngest son, is currently with Everton's youth team.
