MR. D.I.Y. Invites Artists to Submit Artwork for 'Strength & Resilience' Competition with Over 1 Million Baht in Prizes

MR. D.I.Y. is igniting creative power and promoting Thai art by opening the MR. D.I.Y. Contemporary Art Competition for 2024 under the theme 'Strength & Resilience'. The competition, scheduled for February 5, 2024, is open to students and the general public nationwide from January 27 to April 20, 2024, with total prize money of 1,010,000 baht and opportunities to exhibit at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) and participate in a regional competition in Indonesia. This is the second year of the competition, following last year's success with over 1,000 participants and 80,000 exhibition visitors. The theme reflects community spirit, diversity, and adaptability, allowing participants to freely express concepts through artwork depicting human stories, nature, structures, or everyday materials that showcase overcoming challenges. The competition is divided into two categories: educational institutions (for participants under 23) and general public (open to all ages, nationalities residing in Thailand). Participants can submit up to three original, non-AI artworks including two-dimensional paintings, assemblage, and collage. Winners will receive cash prizes, exhibition opportunities at BACC, and potential selection for the regional competition in Indonesia.
