Court Sentences 'Ton Pai' to 30 Years in Prison for Lèse-Majesté, Total Sentence Reaches 50 Years
On February 10, 2026, the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road, Room 907, held a hearing for a lèse-majesté case (Black Case No. A.1486/2566) prosecuted by the Criminal Prosecution Division 4. The defendant, Phroetikorn (alias 'Ton Pai'), was charged with insulting the monarchy under Article 112 of the Criminal Code and the Computer Crime Act. The defendant had previously fled during the trial proceedings. The court issued an arrest warrant and revoked bail. The defendant's lawyer, Arnon Nampa, a political activist currently serving time for a similar case, was present at the court hearing. Previously, on December 18, 2024, the Criminal Court had already sentenced the defendant to 20 years in prison for similar offenses. The prosecution argued that the defendant had repeatedly insulted and defamed the monarchy through social media posts between November 8, 2021, and March 27, 2022. The court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to 10 separate 3-year terms, totaling 30 years in prison.
