DEPA and Revenue Department Support SMEs with 200% Tax Deduction for Digital Products and Services

The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) and the Revenue Department have successfully pushed a tax measure to support digital transformation for SMEs. The new tax decree, published in the Royal Gazette, allows companies to deduct expenses at twice the rate for purchasing computer programs, hardware, smart devices, or digital services registered on DEPA's digital service account. Dr. Nattapon Nimmanpatcharin, DEPA's Director-General, explained that the measure targets small companies with paid capital not exceeding 5 million baht and annual revenues under 30 million baht. Companies can claim tax exemptions up to 100% for digital product and service expenses, with a maximum deduction of 300,000 baht for purchases between June 24, 2025, and December 31, 2027. The goal is to encourage SMEs to adopt digital technologies, improve operational efficiency, and enhance competitive capabilities while supporting Thailand's digital industry development.
