Cambodian Navy Detains Thai Fishing Boat in Border Waters
TRAT — The Royal Cambodian Navy has detained a Thai fishing vessel in waters off Koh Kong province, amid heightened maritime border tensions. The vessel, named 'Kor Chok Burapha' with registration number 6564-01785 and owned by Boonyang Ketkaew, was intercepted at 16:25 on 14 February 2026 by a Cambodian naval patrol unit in Pak Khlong commune. The boat had departed from Por Kasemsiri pier in Trat Province and was reportedly carrying goods from Samut Sakhon Province. The incident follows recent maritime confrontations, including the Thai Navy pushing back 25-30 Cambodian fishing boats near Koh Kut island between 12-13 February. Security agencies are now coordinating to verify the crew's safety and the vessel's detention details.
