Ice Ratchanok Exposes Bot Attacks Disrupting Social Security Board Election Public Hearing
On February 13, 2024, Ice Ratchanok Srinok posted on Facebook about suspicious bot activity during the Social Security Board public hearing on February 12. She highlighted that while everyone was focusing on election fraud, bot attacks were being used to disrupt the voting system's consultation process.
Throughout the 28-day public hearing period from January 15 to February 12, approximately 250,000 people participated. However, within just 24 hours, an additional 150,000 people joined the consultation without any clear motivation. Ratchanok suggests this indicates manipulation by the Social Security Office.
She noted that tomorrow (February 14) the current Social Security Board will complete its two-year term and transition to a caretaker status without full powers. According to constitutional principles, a new election should be organized within 45 days of term completion.
Ratchanok pointed out four key concerns:
1. The existing office is proposing election system changes at an inappropriate time
2. The new regulations were drafted by previous appointed board members who lost the election
3. Bot attacks are artificially influencing the public hearing
4. The goal is to delay the election by citing procedural issues
