NACC Files Supreme Court Case Against 'Chaithip', Kla Thamm MP for Ethical Misconduct in Parliamentary Gambling Incident
The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) reported that they are filing a case with the Supreme Court against Chaithip Kamolpantip, a Ratchaburi MP from Kla Thamm Party, for unauthorized gambling within a Member of Parliament's office at the parliament building. Witness testimonies revealed that on January 11, 2023, at around 1:35 PM, Chaithip and four others were found playing cards with gambling chips on a specially prepared table during work hours. The NACC concluded that this behavior constitutes a serious ethical violation, damaging the dignity of both the MP position and parliamentary standards. Although Chaithip claimed to have resigned on March 2, 2023, the NACC maintains that the incident occurred during his active tenure as an MP and therefore falls under ethical misconduct regulations.
