Pichanon Ing-prasarn from Phum Jai Thai, nicknamed 'Captain Pom', won a decisive victory in the Trat parliamentary representative election on February 8, 2024. In the unofficial results from 340 voting units with 176,946 eligible voters, Pichanon secured 62,680 votes, defeating Phannaseth Num-nu from the People's Party who received 28,832 votes. Other candidates included Preechawit Chimpaka from the Democrat Party with 28,832 votes, Sakdech Sawangsai with 3,902 votes, and Tinawat Jiam-ui from Palang Pracharath Party with 3,851 votes. After his election, Pichanon expressed gratitude to Trat citizens and pledged to focus on three key areas: tourism, agriculture, and industry, with specific plans to develop community tourism and follow up on infrastructure projects like roads and bridges around Koh Chang.
