On February 12, 2026, at Buriram Rajabhat University Complex, Mongkol Wimonrat, Director-General of the Department of Physical Education, presided over the closing ceremony of the 45th National Student Sports Games, 'Khon Buriram Games'. The event was attended by Piya Pitjnam, Governor of Buriram, Somchai Leela-noi, Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat, and other officials. The closing ceremony began with a parade of athlete representatives from 10 regions entering the stadium, followed by Buriram's athlete procession and an 'E-san For Fun' performance. Ganyarat Thommaisong from Buriram Tourism and Sports delivered a summary report, followed by Mongkol Wimonrat's closing speech. The flag handover ceremony was conducted by Piya Pitjnam to Mongkol Wimonrat, and subsequently to Somchai Leela-noi, signaling Nakhon Si Thammarat's readiness to host the 46th National Student Sports Games in 2027. Medal standings saw Region 10 (Bangkok) leading with 76 gold, 58 silver, and 52 bronze medals, followed by Region 2 and Region 3. The next games, 'Nakhon Si Thammarat Games', are planned for early February 2027, with approximately 24-26 sports expected to be featured.
