Students Storm Election Commission, Declare: 'Losing is Okay, But Be Transparent'
A group of students arrived at the Election Commission office during a press conference about nationwide election issues, particularly in Chonburi province. They brought A4 signs with messages like 'Recount', 'How are polling station officials trained?', and 'Is this what tax money for international study trips gets us?'
Pan, a 22-year-old student, explained that they coordinated with students from various universities to symbolically protest. Security officials initially prevented them from displaying signs inside, forcing them to demonstrate outside.
Pan stated they want transparency in the election process, arguing that while losing an election is acceptable, it must be done fairly. He alleged vote buying in his hometown by two parties but said people fear speaking out due to local influential figures.
He suggested potential future legal demonstrations and expressed deep skepticism about the election's integrity, questioning whether Thailand is truly a democratic system.
