Agriculture Ministry Develops 'Biological Fermentation' from Raw Milk Amino Acids to Solve Market Surplus
The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is brainstorming and developing biological fermentation from raw milk amino acids as an innovative biological product alternative to solve raw milk market oversupply. Vinaron Sapsongsuks, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, chaired a meeting to discuss solutions for the Thai dairy industry, with Aphai Sutthisang, Deputy Permanent Secretary, and relevant agency executives in attendance. The meeting aimed to track progress and discuss development strategies for agricultural bio-products from cow's milk to maximize agricultural sector benefits and resource utilization. The ministry has assigned the Rubber Authority of Thailand, Land Development Department, and Thailand Dairy Cooperative (TDC) as lead agencies to study and develop biological fermentation from raw milk amino acids. This innovation aims to enhance production potential by improving soil and crop cultivation, increasing production volume, and reducing farmer costs. Currently, the project is in the testing and quality verification stage, with plans to certify and register the bio-fermentation product according to the Department of Agriculture standards before knowledge transfer and distribution to farmers.
