Buriram United Releases Serbian Striker Jorge Despotovic

Buriram United, a giant team in the Thai League, has officially announced the separation from Serbian striker Jorge Despotovic after he barely got opportunities to play. The club posted an official message on their Facebook page, thanking Jorge Despotovic for his time with the team and wishing him success in his future football career. Despotovic, a 33-year-old striker standing 190 cm tall, joined the 'Lightning Castle' team after the first transfer window had closed in October 2025, which prevented him from playing in the Thai League. Buriram only fielded him in the ACL ELITE league stage. Despotovic played in only two matches - a home victory against Shanghai Port FC 2-0 (playing 17 minutes) and a home draw against Gangwon FC 2-2 (playing 5 minutes), totaling just 22 minutes of play before parting ways with the team.
