Wiroj Challenges Election Commission to Scan Unused Ballots and Prove Whether They Violated the Law
Election Commission, don't stay silent! Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, a People's Party leader, posted on Facebook on February 13, 2024, about the barcodes and QR codes found on election ballots. He stated that if the barcodes are unique codes that connect to individual ballot stubs, the Election Commission would be breaking the law. Whether the codes on green ballots (district representative) or pink ballots (party list) are repeated or unique is a critical issue the Election Commission cannot ignore. If the codes are identical on all ballots to verify authenticity, it's not a problem. However, if the barcodes or QR codes are unique running codes matching ballot stubs, it would immediately reveal which candidate each voter selected, along with their personal details. This would potentially violate constitutional articles protecting voting secrecy. Wiroj challenged the Election Commission to allow media to scan unused ballots with their stubs to prove whether a legal violation occurred, warning of potential criminal and civil penalties.
