Election Commission Warns Political Party Executives of Severe Penalties for Election Fraud
On February 5, 2024, the Election Commission (EC) strongly urged political party executive committees to control and supervise their members to prevent actions that could compromise election fairness and legality. If party executives fail to comply, they will be removed from their positions collectively and prohibited from holding any political party positions for 20 years. The ban includes restrictions on interfering with party activities and participating in candidate selection for parliamentary or other political positions.
