Revealed: 99 Buses Abandoned for Nearly 10 Years at Laem Chabang Port After Customs Seizure

A Facebook user in the Bangkokbusclub Cafe group posted aerial images from Google Earth showing 99 Sunlong buses parked at Laem Chabang Port. These blue buses, originally intended to operate for Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA), have been stationary for nearly 10 years after being seized by customs officials for false origin declaration. The buses were imported in late 2016 but were impounded due to attempts to illegally avoid import taxes. While 390 additional buses in subsequent shipments were released after paying taxes, these 99 vehicles remain at the port, exposed to sun, rain, and sea winds. The buses are now likely completely deteriorated and beyond repair.
