Lerd Sing: Overcoming Challenges from Behind Bars to RWS Fighting Stage
Lerd Sing from Ang Thong Prison is a person who has pioneered a new path with his own two hands, transforming from an imprisoned boxer with a dream to standing on the world-class RWS stage. Before his imprisonment, he was a rising boxer in the Phet Yindee circuit, but drug addiction derailed his promising career in an instant. Behind prison walls, this became a massive life lesson. Lerd Sing reflected, reconsidered, and chose to start over, deciding to pursue boxing within the prison. He partnered with Bunyha, a fellow inmate trainer, and approached the prison commander to establish a Thai boxing club. They resourcefully gathered equipment, sewed boxing gloves, and created training targets with their own hands. When a new prison commander, a Thai boxing enthusiast, recognized his genuine intent and fully supported him, the path from behind bars gradually opened, leading him to the RWS stage. 'Effort never hurts anyone. Even if you've made mistakes, it's never too late to think differently for those who are determined.' This Saturday, February 14th, Lerd Sing from Ang Thong will fight in the 5th fight and his first RWS match against Saad Askari from Morocco, embodying the dream and unbreakable spirit of a boxer from behind prison walls.
