Motorcycle Shooting: 23-Year-Old Man Killed, One Suspect Surrenders
On January 30, 2024, reporters followed up on a case where two suspects on a red motorcycle used a firearm to shoot and kill Thanarat (nickname "Boss"), 23, near the Phetchaburi highway.
CCTV footage captured the suspects arguing with the victim for 6-7 seconds before one of them pulled out a gun and fired almost 10 shots. Thanarat fell from his Honda PCX 150 motorcycle and lay motionless on the road. The suspects then fled, riding against traffic towards Mueang District, Phetchaburi Province.
Later, a 17-year-old suspect named "A" (pseudonym) surrendered to local police, claiming he was just a passenger and not the shooter. He was with another 16-year-old friend "B" (pseudonym).
Police Lieutenant Colonel Niyom Suiwong from Khao Yoi Police Station revealed that the victim and suspects had a history of ongoing conflicts, but this was the first time weapons were used. The suspect claimed they encountered the victim by chance and exchanged provocative words before the shooting.
The Phetchaburi Court has approved an arrest warrant, and police are currently tracking the second suspect. Additionally, police have already seized the red motorcycle used in the crime.
