The Department of Business Development is preparing to transform Thailand's health business ecosystem into version 5.0, boosting entrepreneurs' potential for exponential growth in the health economy trend.
Poon Phong Naiyanapakorn, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, revealed that the Wellness business is considered one of the country's emerging industries, covering health products and services, beauty, food, spa, fitness, and health tourism. The department has created the 'DBD Wellness 2026' roadmap to provide development guidelines for entrepreneurs to adapt and truly grow in the new market.
The promotion is divided into three steps: 1) Learn & Hack with the 'DBD Wellness ConNext' course designed to address modern trade by blending AI technology, management, and business networking to elevate Thai businesses to a Global Wellness Hub, to be held on February 18-19, 2026, at the Asia Hotel in Bangkok. 2) Build & Scale with the 'DBD Wellness Scale-up' course for potential entrepreneurs to receive in-depth coaching. 3) Pitch & Win, selecting 12 top entrepreneurs to participate in business matching at the Thailand Wellness & Healthcare Expo 2026, expected to generate over 85 million baht in added trade value.
Currently, as of January 31, 2026, Thailand has over 30,712 Wellness business entities, with nearly 400 billion baht in circulating investment and total revenues exceeding 1.233 trillion baht, growing 7.9% from 2024.
